If a day has 72 hours...
I wonder if we can stay awake for 72 hours in the future, how the world looks like?

In some Asian countries, overtime working is a common occurrence. Even in China, there is an overtime culture called 996 culture, which works six days a week, working 12 hours a day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day. However, despite such long working hours, overtime is often extended, that is to say, they have been lack of energy due to 12 hours of work, and they still need to stay awake to work overtime.

Nevertheless, because of the excessive competitive pressure in the labour market and the high return rate of wages compared with other industries, they face such a cultural choice to bear, and they have to work overtime for the company. In fact, excessive overtime can make their energy more exhausted due to their previous work, and their brain is under too much pressure due to long-time work, It’s hard to stay awake and finish the work efficiently.

Also, in our life, I often see many people lament that there is not enough time. We can only concentrate on completing things for about 10-12 hours a day. For example, when there is heavy workload and time is tight, many people hope that the time can be extended.

I also often wonder that if I can spend 48-72 hours in succession, I can finish some large project. But the time is limited. There are only 24 hours a day. We cannot change it. The only we can change is our waking hours. However, our energy will always be exhausted in the later stage. People will be tired, so we can only extend our energy.
